Spoon Sports Aero Rear Bumper – Honda S2000 AP1/AP2

Spoon's aero rear bumper for the S2000, a newer design that cuts air resistance and adds downforce.

• Spoon has developed S2000 aero parts since 2007 and has raced them in Super Taikyu and other events.
• CFD analysis shaped the bumper to smooth airflow from the front end to the hood, reducing drag.
• Extended bumper ends and a hollowed lower section act like canards to generate downforce.
• Airflow is directed to help extract air from the wheel arch.
• Fluid analysis was used to confirm these effects.
• Material: FRP with a white gel coat finish.
• Prep: the part contains wax from manufacturing, so degrease before painting, then sand to about #800. Polyester putty or surfacer can fill pinholes and scratches.
• Test fit the part before painting.
• Let it air dry. Avoid paint booths and heaters. In cold or humid conditions, dry at 40C or less.
• Don't heat only part of the piece, as this can cause distortion.
