The Girodisc A2-207 rear rotors are engineered as a direct replacement for the original equipment (OE) discs, ensuring a seamless installation without the need for modifications. Construction and Design

These rotors feature a central hat section crafted from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, providing exceptional strength while minimizing weight. The rotor itself is manufactured from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, which is poured and machined entirely in-house in the USA. The curved vane design is inspired by racing technology, functioning as a centrifugal pump to enhance cooling airflow through the disc, thereby improving performance during intense braking situations.

Floating Mount System

The Girodisc A2-207 utilizes a floating mount system that incorporates ten high-strength alloy steel drive pins, specifically manufactured to Girodisc's stringent specifications and cadmium plated for enhanced corrosion resistance. This design allows for axial and radial float between the hat and disc, optimizing braking performance while minimizing wear. The pins are secured with class 12.9 cap screws and hardened washers, ensuring durability under high-stress conditions.

To mitigate noise during cold operation, anti-noise spring washers are incorporated on the rotor side, allowing for thermal expansion while eliminating the rattle typically associated with floating rotors. This self-centering feature ensures that the rotor aligns perfectly between the brake pads, enhancing overall braking efficiency.
