Funk Motorsport VAG IHI IS38 Turbo Blanket

Funk Motorsport's turbo blanket for the IHI IS38 turbo (as fitted to the VW Golf R Mk7 and Audi S3 8V). Its 4-layer construction provides up to 3x more thermal protection than competitor blankets, reduces temperatures by up to 90%, and is available in Titanium and Carbon Fibre finishes.

The standard finish suits most applications; choose Inside Out only if a heat source will touch the outside of the blanket once fitted.

• 4-layer construction with an uprated Carbon Fibre or Titanium twill outer finish
• Insulates the hot side of the turbo, keeping heat in the exhaust gases for improved spool-up and throttle response
• Reduces heat transferred into the engine bay and intake pipework for more consistent power
• Shields nearby oil lines, coolant lines and bodywork from turbo heat
• Removable for routine turbo maintenance
• Stainless steel thread (approx. 1 mm diameter) rated above 1300°C; thicker ceramic silica complex matting insulation
• Withstands temperatures up to 1300°C, with temperature reductions of up to 90%
• RoHS tested and approved

Most installations can be done without removing the turbo; product and fitting guide videos are provided. The blanket may smoke during its first heat cycles, which is normal. It is not flammable, but keep flammable fluids away from it, as fluid contamination can create an ignition risk.
